Wave Your Way began quietly, with hands, cord, and time.
I first discovered macramé in 2013 while backpacking through Nepal. With only simple tools and long stretches of travel, I began knotting as a way to pass the time. At the time, I didn’t realize this humble craft would one day hold far deeper meaning.
In 2014, I experienced a profound personal loss that left me overwhelmed and unsure how to move forward. Words failed me, and everything felt heavy.
In that space, I returned to macramé.
What began as a distraction slowly became a lifeline. The repetitive, meditative rhythm of knotting gave my hands something steady when my heart felt broken. Each knot became a small moment of focus, a breath, a release. Through the quiet act of making, I found a way to process grief and reclaim a sense of calm—one knot at a time.
Macramé became more than a craft. It became a form of healing.
Today, that same intention is woven into every Wave Your Way piece. Each knot is tied with care, patience, and the hope that it may offer comfort, clarity, or peace to someone else. This brand was born not just from creativity, but from resilience, presence, and the belief that even in life’s hardest moments, something gentle and meaningful can still be made.
